Mechanism Instruction
An engaging, location based experience that combines the magic of ETC and the Pittsburgh night skyline. Guests can explore the space, and discover the musical chords and visual arts that team up for a call- and -response environment through physical interactions with floor pads and hanging orbs.
In this project, considering the night scene theme, I filmed night scenes in Pittsburgh, like moving street and night buildings scenes. I also built abstract animations through After Effects and Quartz Composer. Then I mixed those footages together and applied sound analyse system in Resolume Arena in order to create fantasy visual experience. At the climax- "Remix Mode", which would be triggered by stepping on all the pads, guests would see their live postures on the projection, which I designed by using the video capture box.
